Synopsis:
Emperor Shrivallabha is the mighty but widower king with only one daughter named Prabhavati. Prabhavati is so much fond of her doll that her world rotates around it. Shrivallabha has an enemy in the eastern neighborhood, King Vikrama. Since King Vikrama is weak and can not defeat Shrivallabha on the battlefront, he conspires to abduct and kill princess Prabhavati so that after the death of Shrivallabha he can claim the empire. He sends two assassins to capture and kill the princess.On hearing this news from the chief-minister, Shrivallabha orders his minister and Army chief to train Prabhavati in warfare, politics and arts. The motherless poor child does not understand the gravity of the situation and wants only to play with her doll. She refuses to learn anything. Angered, the king orders the doll to be thrown into a deep forest.
The ministers and various teachers try to teach Princess Prabhavati but in vain. She only keeps on chanting the ‘doll’ mantra. Finally, she decides to run away from the palace, sneak into the forest and look for her beloved doll.
Once in the deep forest, Prabhavati searches for the doll and finds it. However, the two assassins sent by the enemy king Vikrama are also on her trail. From their spies, they have learnt that Prabhavati has gone to the forest to find her doll. Although they do not know how the princess looks in person, they hope to find and kill her for the doll is the key to her. They will be chieftains of King Vikrama in the bargain. Dhondya and Pandya are brothers from a tribe in the forest. They wander in the forest fearlessly herding the cattle. Prabhavati meets them accidentally and tells her story to them. They advise her to return to the palace immediately, stop playing with the doll and become a strong person as her father wished. They tell her about their brave sister Rupa (of the same age as of Prabhavati) who had killed a wolf with single blow of a stick. They call Rupa and introduce her to the princess. Prabhavati gets very friendly to her. They exchange their ornaments and garlands.The two assassins arrive and find Rupa with the princely ornaments and the doll in her hands. They take Rupa for the princess and want to kill her. However, the real princess interrupts and tries to stop them. Dhondya and Pandya also intervene and fight bravely with the assassins, however, fruitlessly. In confusion, the assassins decide to kill both the girls in question since one of them would surely be the princess.

When they are about to carry out their ferocious plan, King Shrivallabha arrives with his army and arrests them. The king offers to adopt Dhondya, Pandya and Rupa and make Dhondya the king in the future. But Dhondya refuses and Princess Prabhavati, now a changed person throws away her doll. “I will learn everything and show to the world that I am a brave girl. I will be a braver and better ruler than Shrivallabha”, She proclaims.
